On 9 January, we were delighted to host a panel of specialists working in various post-production sound roles within the screen industries for our first live careers broadcast of 2023, in partnership with Speakers for Schools.

It was free to attend, available for all UK secondary schools and was aimed specifically at KS3-5/S1-6. Meanwhile. you can watch a full recording of the session on the Speakers for Schools website.

Our panel included Stephen Little (Supervising Sound Editor / Dialogue & ADR Editor), Joe Jackson (Sound Editor and Assistant Sound Editor), Rebecca Heathcote (Foley Artist and Editor) and Chad Orororo (Sound Designer).

Each guest shared their experiences of working in post-production sound and the importance of the soundtrack in engaging the audience and telling a story.

Young people were first given the chance to see clips of the panel's work and understand more about their jobs and the wider post-production industry. They also had the opportunity to pose questions to the guest speakers at the end of the broadcast.

Our latest Speakers for Schools session was a huge success, with 25 schools registering and 434 young people attending from across the UK.
