About the resource

To celebrate the cinema release of live action comedy-adventure Sonic the Hedgehog¸ we've partnered with Youth Sport Trust to create a new PE-led classroom resource for educators of pupils aged 9-13.

Using Sonic's immense speed and energy as inspiration, our four-lesson downloadable resource takes pupils on a wellbeing journey which will see them utilising mindfulness exercises to improve focus, setting goals to encourage ambition and devising exercise routines to improve their physical skill.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing approach underpins the lesson content, and by touching on PE, maths, science, English and PSHE subjects, learners will flex a plethora of skills throughout the learning programme and discover the importance of working as a team.

Encourage your students to learn all the Sonic Skills for Success they need for a healthy body and mind

All the lessons come with an accompanying PowerPoint presentation, teachers’ notes and activity and homework sheets. To engage older students, we’ve even created an additional assembly PowerPoint presentation to focus on how Sonic – and by extension, your students – can live their best life and balance work, ambition and their mental health.

To complement the resource, our limited printed pack provides 200 lucky educators with competition leaflets, a class wall chart and reward stickers to incentivise learning.

For further motivation, pupils can enter our competition to tell us what they’d do if they had Sonic’s power of super speed for the day for the chance to win exciting prizes!

Competition to win £500 worth of sports equipment vouchers for your school

Whether you receive one of our 200 limited printed packs or not, you can still access the competition leaflets online to enter your pupils into our Super Sonic Speed competition to win £500 worth of sports equipment vouchers for your school, plus exciting Sonic goodies for the winning entrant!

Simply ask your pupils to describe what they'd do if they had Sonic's super speed for the day for their chance to win.

Entries close 13 March 2020, terms and conditions apply.
