Into Film with Studiocanal launch Swallows and Amazons Survival Guide; a brand new resource created to celebrate the DVD release of Philippa Lowthorpe's Swallows and Amazons on December 12th 2016. Starring Kelly Macdonald, Rafe Spall and Andrew Scott, the film revisits the much-loved story from British author Arthur Ransome and follows four children on their summer Lake District island adventure.

This immersive resource involves creative classroom activities for students aged 7 and over and uses the theme of survival within the film to engage learners. Using exclusive clips from the film as a stimulus for discussion of survival techniques and the production of a creative writing piece, the resource is sure to capture the imaginations of students across the UK.

The activities can be used in a classroom or film club setting and there is a take-home task for students to complete independently, all of which are closely linked to the curriculums to English and Literacy in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Download the accompanying curriculum links document for more information.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
