Our hugely popular Step into Screen Careers series offers young people a range of information and activities to get them thinking about the types of roles available in the screen industries and target specific aspects of working life. There are over 20 activity sheets, split across five pages, so make sure you download all of them, to get the most out of the series.

Step into Screen Careers is a versatile series of activity sheets, perfect for engaging students in exploring career paths and building skills which are useful in the screen industries.

The activities encourage young people to think about the practicalities of entering employment, reflecting on their own skills and interests whilst also discovering what it is like to work in the screen industries. They are flexible and can be used individually or grouped together for lessons, homework or independent study.

On this page you will find activities to help young people develop their understanding of what goes on behind the scenes including the environments people work in and key language they might use. Sheets include:

  • Walkie talkie workout
  • Hear it on set!
  • Who works where in film and TV - workshops and trailers
  • Who works where in film and TV - set or location
  • Who works where in film and TV - post-production facility
  • Who works where in film and TV - production office
  • Who works where in film and TV - activity sheet
  • Who works where in film and TV - full colour poster

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
