Join us at Ysgol Cedewain, Newtown for a training session that will introduce you to a mix of interesting and engaging activities aimed at helping you use film to motivate learners, raise standards and meet key learning objectives.
During this session, Into Film will provide an overview of various interactive activities designed to support teachers to introduce learning through and about film. Many of the activities have also been tailored to help you meet key learning objectives linked to the digital literacy and literacy frameworks.
Furthermore, the work has been developed to help teachers introduce film in line with the developments within the new curriculum for Wales and in particular the introduction of film as a discipline within the Expressive Arts Area of Learning and Experience.
The structure of this training has been specifically developed to complement the What Matters statements and the three key strands that work across the Expressive Arts Area of Learning and Experience:
Explore : to watch a diverse range of films about any subject and theme in an array of genres - therefore learning through film
Respond and Reflect : to analyse, discuss and deconstruct a film - therefore learning about film
Create : to experiment, develop skills and gain the confidence to make content and share that content by promoting, showcasing and sharing it with others - therefore to make films.
There will also be an opportunity to hear about Into Film's programme and how its free offer can use film to support other aspects of the new curriculum.
This session will be run through the medium of English. Into Film Cymru also run training events Welsh. Please get in touch if you would like to know more.
Cynhelir y sesiwn hwn yn Saesneg ond mae Into Film Cymru yn darparu hyfforddiant ac yn creu adnoddau yn Gymraeg hefyd. Am fwy o wybodaeth, cysylltwch gyda ni.
