Discover how film can inspire your pupils’ creative writing skills through sequencing and prediction activities.
Designed as an introduction to creative writing using film, this short course identifies simple activities to energise your literacy lessons. You’ll learn how to turn your primary pupils into active story-makers, as they imagine new stories from film stills and explore how camera shot types can support them to write creative poetry.
Along the way, you’ll get the chance to try out the activities and share your work with your fellow educators as well as the course experts. We’ll also share top tips to help you make the most of each lesson idea and introduce filmmaking as an exciting poetry challenge to extend your pupils’ learning. By signing up, you’ll also gain exclusive access to beautiful short films and full lesson resources so you can put your learning into practice straight away.
By the end of this course, you will be able to:
Inspire imaginative writing through film
Develop understanding of story structure with film
Use film stills to develop sequencing and prediction skills
