Ongoing senior leader involvement has been identified by CUREE1 and Paul Hamlyn Foundation as key to the success and sustainability of change in schools.2

Created specifically for senior leaders, Leading Whole School Change Through Film introduces film as a powerful strategy for teaching and learning – and acts as a springboard into a tried and tested model of sustainable professional development.

Backed up by six years of funded Into Film research projects, this short course demonstrates the impact of film on progress and attainment while also developing cross-curricular learning and key thinking skills.

We’ll explore film as a strategy for all settings – whether a teacher is investigating the Victorians on film in primary school or demonstrating a chemical reaction with filmmaking in secondary.

As former teachers and school leaders, our Into Film experts will show you how our free training and curriculum resources can build into a bespoke staff development plan and how you can inspire your staff to take on key roles in driving whole school change through film. You’ll also get a taste of how engaging film is with one of our most popular and adaptable short activities.

By the end of the course, you will be able to:

  • Identify an area of focus for film in your school
  • Create a sustainable model of staff professional development
  • Provide ongoing support to film leaders to cascade skills to staff
  • Access an ongoing support network through the course community.

“Designed specifically with teachers in mind, the standard of CPD we have received is some of the best that I’ve witnessed. This is an intervention that has helped to raise children’s achievement.”

Ciaran Kinney, Vice Principal, Full STEAM Ahead

Into Film courses are only available for UK-based teachers.
