This course is part of Relationships on Film, a series of short learning experiences to support sex and relationships education.

Discover how filmmaking can not only engage your students, but also reinforce key concepts and extend learning in your sex and relationships lessons.

Created in partnership with the sexual health and wellbeing charity, Brook, this course will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to guide 11-16-year olds through the process of creating a short film on a sex and relationships topic. You’ll learn how filmmaking can make learning more accessible – and enjoyable – through our step-by-step guidance, ready-made resources and carefully-selected film content.

As you progress through the course, you’ll also benefit from advice and support from our course team and like-minded educators.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Empower students to create film essays to share their views and consolidate their learning
  • Develop a range of transferable skills such as problem solving, creativity and teamwork.
  • Use the Five-Step Filmmaking approach to break the process down into manageable chunks
  • Share practical tips and tricks to make films using simple equipment.
