To celebrate the upcoming release of the third and final adventure in the How to Train Your Dragon series, we've created a brand-new science and biology resource to help students aged 7-14 learn about nature, the environment and adaption.
The beloved world that Hiccup and Toothless spend their days exploring is about to get a whole lot bigger, as they find themselves visiting a land once thought to be myth: a visually stunning new environment, filled with surprising new dragons.
Over three lessons our Discovering The Hidden World resource will allow students to explore and compare a variety of natural habitats and their distinctive features, including bioluminescence. Plus, as an extension for more able students, delve into the consequences of changing environmental conditions and the adaption capabilities of different species.
Students will use creative writing and design to fashion their own dragon and demonstrate how their new friend is suited to its own particular environment, helping to deliver on both the English literacy and art & design curricula, as well as elements of science and biology.
Be one of the first 400 to register and receive an exclusive Discovering The Hidden World printed pack, which includes:
- A2-sized glow-in-the-dark classroom poster a map of the world highlighting different environments with real animal picture examples
- Printed competition leaflets
- Glow-in-the-dark sticker sheets
- Dragon Decider printed templates to help students determine which dragon they are, and which environment they're fit for.
Students can also enter our Design A Dragon competition, where learnings from the resource can be used to design a dragon suited to their chosen environment. There are great How To Train Your Dragon goodies up for grabs for five lucky winners, and the deadline for entries is 1 March.Register now
