This film is my favourite film of all time. I watched this in the cinema when it came out in June, and when it had finished, I just sat, staring in awe at what I had just experienced. The effects such as the shaking camera and the extra flares made the whole film a lot more realistic. The acting is superb! It is action-packed, gripping and serious, although characters such as Pavel Chekov (played by Anton Yelchin) added a comic relief to the film at certain occasions. It stays true to the original characters and ideas of the series; such as the united races of the world. The characters still had their memorable features; Spock's Vulcan Hand Sign, Captain Kirk's instinct to leap before looking, Sulu's fencing and Chekov's habit of replacing Vs with Ws due to his Russian accent. All together, the film is a must-see and can be watched, even if you have never seen any Star Trek before.
