Capote is a fantastic film following the titular author's personal struggle while writing his masterpiece In Cold Blood. Seymour Hoffman's performance is emotional and believable, and is astonishingly like the real Truman Capote. He never feels like he is doing an impression, but instead creates a three dimensional and sympathetic portrayal of the author. Clifton Collins Jr. also gives a impressive performance as the emotionally disturbed murderer Perry Smith. Smith's blossoming friendship with Capote is moving and Collins Jr. offers a strangely human side to a psychopathic killer.
