A great adaption of the excellent Kipling novel. Both Caine and Connery are convincing members of the British Army. The storyline is fascinating and it really portrays the world of British India and the mysteries of the nineteenth century Asia in splendid detail. The battle sequences, which may be seen as unexciting to the modern film watchers eye but taking into account the age of this film, it surely is understandable. By Jack Shannon, 8A
