I just finished watching Iron Man, and I am now feeling decidedly sleepy. I found this film extremely dull. Maybe it was partly because I’m a pacifist, and couldn’t make myself empathise with a weapons manufacturer at all. The main character did sort of change throughout the film, but by that time, I already disliked him, and his sense of morality, when he developed one, was still pretty simplistic. He thought he could right the wrongs he’d done, to do with killing people, by killing more people, because WE ALL KNOW THERE ARE ONLY HEROES AND VILLIANS IN THE WORLD, AND NO-ONE CARES IF THE VILLIANS DIE. He came across as arrogant and selfish, and he relied on his assistant to do almost everything for him. Aside from that, I could barely follow the plot because of all the tedious chatter about the military. The only parts I could get close to enjoying were the action scenes, but that was only because of how ridiculous it was when Iron Man just appeared out of nowhere and saved the day. Sorry to be negative, but this is just really not my kind of film. Note: the text in block capitals is sarcastic.
