Fast-moving, exciting reboot of the Star Trek series from director J.J. Abrams, telling a new story of how James T Kirk and Spock first met.

Absolute rubbish! I utterly despised this film as of 45 minutes in. Please bear in mind that I was neutral towards Star Trek and was not prejudiced. However, I can officially declare I hate this film. The film made little sense and the plot was utterly terrible. For a sci-fi they aren't very well informed that black holes do not have an ending. The time-travel put me off completely as it cheapened and degraded the story. It was not only exceptionally bad tattoo jobs and aliens with American accents that annoyed me, but the sheer ignorance of logic had me having to stop myself from shouting at the screen. Why is that if they are boarding an enemy ship that the send their commanding officers (3 out the many eligible others) and the bridge staff to go when there are another 500+ people that could go, including combat personnel? "Sure, lets just send our commander and leave virtually nobody in the bridge to control the ship, that makes perfect sense!" Furthermore, why are trainees sent on a mission? Its like putting untrained police officers into riot action. That simply wouldn't happen realistically. The plot of the movie was simply too jumpy and at the end of the movie your just thinking, "What? Why did that happen?" or else if you do understand it your thinking, "That was far too predictable." The special effects weren't great and the acting was flawed to my greatest disappointment as I had high expectations that Star Trek's revival would do it justice. Spok annoyed me through his bowl shaped hairstyle and elven resemblance and I don't much care for the rest of the cast as they too were terrible. For this movie I can only say, " An irrefutably gaping hole within logical thinking and a tarnish upon Starfleet's tattered record." USS Enterprise out, (for, hopefully, forever).
