Wake up, go to school, come home, help Dad with cars. This is the average daily routine for nine-year old Danny. When Captain Lancaster joins the school he makes life a lot harder for Danny. Mr Hazell is trying to force the Smiths off their land but they hatch a humourous but effective plan which will leave Danny crowned as, The Champion of the World! The director (Gavin Millar) has made a fantastic film out of the much-loved childrens book by Roald Dahl. Danny(played by Samuel Irons) playing 1 of the leading roles and does an excellent job with his Dad (Jeremy Irons) playing the father-and-son role. At some points in the film I lost interest because there wasn't enough action so for that reason I rate this film as 3 stars out of 5. I really liked Danny because he was courageous, Mr Smith because he was as sly as a fox, Mr Hazell because he was funny and Mr Lancaster because he can display any emotion. Overall I think it was quite a good film
