Wasteland was absolutely brilliant. This film is a documentary about a Brazilian artist travelling to a Rubbish dump in Brazil and how he inspires its workers to create pieces of art out of some of the rubbish collected from the dump. They manage to sell the original pieces for thousands of Dollars and make their lives better for themselves. I found this film very heart warming as it made me feel sympathy for the workers at the dump as they have an awful quality of life and have to put up with some nasty stuff during their daily lives. I really enjoyed watching the pieces of art come to life and how one man can change many people’s lives forever. This film shows what life is really like in the slums and poor parts of Brazil and makes the viewer think about what they take for granted and how well off they are compared to people who live in third-world countries. I would recommend this film to anyone who is interested in how people live and work in countries that aren’t as developed as the UK.
