This film was simply a movie masterpeice in my eyes. It was funny, insightful, inspiring and touching. Yes, I know it's a cliche to call a film thats about someones hard life touching but it really was. Robert Downey Jr's performace was outstanding. His great betrayel of Chaplin with the slapstick comedy was fantasic. But a younger audience may not like it, it might be considered "boring" to a seven year old who likes his guns. This film is how you tell a story. I was satisfied when those credits rolled.
Print this reviewChaplin's first 'talkie' was also the first major anti-fascist film of its era portrayed through slapstick and satire, with a touching message.
