When i think of the film ' i am Sam'-i think about my dad-all dads in fact, and how no matter what anyone says or does, a dad-your dad has every right to their own child. In this case a daughter. And even though they might not be as smart as you'd like them to be, or not as mature as you'd want, as long as they love you, that should be enough. They mothers get a bond when they first see their child-then why can't a dad? And to see that bond broken-taken away, is almost heart breaking. and that’s exactly how Sam and his daughter Lucy diamond Dawson feel when there taken and placed in a situation where running away, lying and court is the only decision when forced to meet in restricted places for short numbers of time, with 'hugging' seen as against the law to some! But no matter what people will do, who in their eyes are trying to help, are just swatting a love that cannot be broken. full of determination and trust, Sam will do anything to get his daughter who to him is the 'jewel' in his eye and with the love and help of his friends-to the court, witnesses who will in their best interest do whatever it takes to reunite what was broken by a simple series of unfortunate events. That even lead to a sharing of a prize far better than enjoying alone.
