Beautifully atmospheric, haunting Swedish horror about a bullied kid who makes friends with the vampire who's moved in next door.

Directed by award winning director and writer Tomas Alfredson, Let The Right One In is the tale of a boy, Oskar, who befriends his new neighbour Eli. After being bullied and tormented by children at school, his new found friendship with Eli empowers Oskar to start fighting back, safely within the knowledge that his neighbour is there to protect him. But will Eli’s thirst endanger Oskar even more? I really enjoyed this film due to its high quality use of dialogue and music in order to create the tension needed to progress the plot. However, although I enjoyed the change of pace when focusing on different characters, I found the film slightly slow paced when introducing the characters within the narrative at the beginning of the film. Of course the film is in Swedish and therefore has English subtitles but this was not a problem for me as the plot of the film withheld my interest in a way which left the usual annoyance of having to read the subtitles unconsidered.
