Its a hole in the floor....but not any hole! Filled with family- friendly horror, which depicts real fears people come across everyday, is a terrifying but yet fun film that creates a hole (Get it) different level of horror/family genre and i can say that i will never look at a hole in the same way again! Joe Dante produces a great film will plenty of horror, comedy and family- friendly moments that you must watch and experiance like i did! Even though it could of had been more humorous in parts, it definately deserves at least 3 stars, due to its magnificient plot and horror. Plenty of puppet clowns, vengeful little dead girls, brainy (literally) police officers and dad's, this film could not get that much better with the horror and plot and the actors/actresses act with ease throughout this underdog blockbuster. Personally, i hate clowns; i depise clowns! And if your like me, when you watch this terrific movie, just the sight of that devilish and malicious puppet clown will give you a real fright....especially when it moves with vast speed, with only the echo of its bells filling the air. But it's not just clowns that emerge out of the horror- filled abyss, trust me, there is plenty more from where that came from. This hole- iffying film has its faults too, no matter how many successes it has. For instance the film could have had more examples of fear like spiders (Another phobia of mine). Additionally, i felt it needed a bit more "umph". What i mean about this is that ir could have been less dull and could have included more excitment. Also, the ending needed to be more original and developed; it was too confusing and well....weird. The scenesin the movie could have flowed more fluently instead of lingering around in the boring moments of the movie Eventually after 1 hour of deciding how many stars to give this film, i settled with 3 because of the brilliant plot, horror and just general implications of utter fear. However, it would have just scratched the surface of a 4 star rating if the ending was more original. I can finally tell you, i will never look at a hole the same way again. Happy watching, Ali Firth
