Loved the TV show. Holy Grail, I wasn't a big fan of (my friends were shocked to find out). Life Of Brian, pretty good. But not up to usual Python standard. While Meaning Of Life wasn't as successful as the other two films, I find it better, because it goes back to its traditional routes of the show: sketches. The whole film is sketches going through the different segments of life: birth, childhood, mid-life crises, autumn years etc. As usual, it's black comedy, but it feels more in place here than the other films. Not only that, but the sketches are so varied. Mr. Creosote, who vomits anywhere (possibly a precursor to the puke jokes of Little Britain?) the Red Coats, who's general has had his leg bitten off by a tiger. An elderly American couple order a topic of conversation on a restaurant menu discussing philosophy. And of course, there's the classic "Every Sperm Is Sacred". This stands out from the other two movies, and was Python's last effort. At least they went out with something good, the comedy geniuses.
