This film stars Mel Gibson, Chris Cooper, and Heath Ledger and is set during the American Revolutionary War. The film is set in South Carolina and tells the story of a man who does everything he can to keep his family safe whilst doing justice to his country. The Patriot does have a few historical inaccuracies and would not be considered as a reliable source for history. However, I felt that this movie was brilliant. The whole plot-line was very moving and realistic. Some battle scenes and murder scenes would be too harsh for the eyes of younger audiences. Therefore, I would only recommend this film for those who like to watch movies set in the past during war times. I would give this film a 4 out of 5.
