If you were allowed to keep just one memory for eternity what would it be? A thoughtful fantasy in which fate, Heaven and destiny is...

Afterlife is a Japanese film with English subtitles set in a point between heaven and earth. Dead people come into this place and in the space of a week come up with the happiest moment in their life before a deadline and then make a film about it. Then they go on to a life after that with this happy moment in their mind for the rest of eternity. People go to this eternal bliss even if they have not led a good life; there is no hell. It centres on the various different lives and personalities of the dead people who come through and the lives of the people who help them. It is Avery interesting idea that all people go to one afterlife regardless of how they led their lives and there is, in the film, a boy who decides that he should not go to heaven because of how he lead his life. So he decides to not meet the deadline. This is also probably the first Japanese film I have seen and although it had subtitles I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t think it worsened it at all. It also has incredibly moving scenes where the people you have got to know choose their moments of joy and where some are the simplest things. That is why I give this film 4/5 stars
