The film "submarine" is a strange but good film about a boy called Oliver Tate, he is worried about his parents relationship and is also a bully victim so he puts together a bunch of ways to make him normal and stop himself from getting bullied he also gets a girlfriend called Jordanna.
This film is hard to understand and to watch it you have to be 100% focused and definitely not tired, it’s a film that you'll rather love or hate a bit like marmite. This film could of been a lot better if you didn’t have to put the story together yourself as much, i think this film makes a statement the way it is filmed is kind of dull but there’s always three colours that stand out all the time; red, blue and yellow.
There’s a powerful scene in the film where Jordanna's mum is dying, Oliver has a dream he is carrying a red rose and he see's Jordanna sat on the floor crying wearing her signature blood red coat she points at a metal bridge going over a lake so Oliver walks over and starts to cross the bridge he looks down the lake is collapsing into itself like some sort of black hole he looks further down the bridge an he see's Jordanna's mum lay there on a bed surrounded by 5 assassin looking people wearing blood red gowns with hoods, then Oliver suddenly wakes up. I don’t understand this scene but it is a good use of colours and sounds.
Id rate this film a 7 out of 10 because its a good film in general but I don’t really like it.
