Submarine is a well-shot and engaging film with some very good acting. Craig Roberts (Oliver) accurately depicts the thoughts and feelings of the common teenager struggling to fit in and find love. The story of the film isn't all that ground-breaking but is made intriguing by the style and presentation of the film.

The fact this is the first film Richard Ayoade has directed makes the film even more pleasant because it's so well-done and unique which makes it thrilling for the viewer to watch.

The only issue I had was with the ending, there were some questions that weren't answered. You could say it's left to viewers interpretation, but a solid ending would have topped it off for me.

4/5 Good coming of age film.
