This version of Jane Eyre does not do the book too much justice, although i found it well acted out, it lacked the depth and intensity that is compulsory in a costume drama. The movie also lacked tone and character development, which is a well known factor of the Bronte novel. Jane Eyre (Mia Wasikowska) was noticeably less passionate and less spirited than in the novel, Mr Rochester (Michael Fassbender) was all though, portrayed as brooding, lacked character and was at times more sarcastic then emotionally scarred. It is quite an eye catching film, with a stunning music score and gorgeous scenery. The direction needs a lot of credit, I was impressed with the dramatic scenes. It is a good film, its a shame that it was just a bit plain at times.
