Million Dollar Baby is an engrossing tale of the struggles of a young woman with one thing going for her which took a long time to establish. Wanting nothing more than to be a success in her life and not live it as a nobody, using boxing as a medium to achieve self-actualization. This film touches on various topics and themes and will have you captivated from beginning to end with its endearing characters and unique storyline. I thought Hilary Swank was a perfect fit for the role as the main female character Maggie Fitzgerald; she portrayed the emotions and tone I don’t think any other actor could have achieved. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman both play exceptional secondary roles and Frankie Dunn (Clint Eastwood) showed how his role in the film affected her life and how she contributed to what he was missing – a relationship with his absent daughter. Overall I think this film is outstanding and a solid 8/10.
