This film has a meaning. Never give up on your dream. It is a meaning that occurs in many films, but is really looked at in this film. Jess is a teenager from India, and her family are muslims. Jess has a dream to become a world famous footballer like her Idol, David Beckham, but her family says otherwise. Even so, Jess still plays football in the park with some of her friends (boys) until one day a girl comes up to her. Jules says that she has been watching Jess play for weeks now and she thinks that Jess has some real Talent. She invites her to play for a proper girls team. Jess agrees. Soon she is playing like a pro. But her family fnd out. All they want her to do is have respect for her religion like a good girl. They begin to teach her how to be a respectful Muslim and that keeps her busy all day. But all she really wants to do is play football. Sure she can cook the erfect Chapati, but can she really bend it like Beckham...?
