Talk about never trust a book by it's cover! Little Miss Sunshine to me sounded like the worst movie imaginable. I saw beauty pagent shows Like Honey-Boo-Boo and Toddler's And Tiara's and as I despise them both, I really thought it was going to stink. But what I got was a funny, relatable and heart-warming comedy!
The story is about a seven year old girl named Olive. When she gets the chance to become a contestant on a pagent called Little Miss Sunshine, she obviously gets excited for it. As the pagent is all the way in Calafornia, she and her family hit the road with many other twist's tto come.
The strong point in the movie is the characters! They make this movie! The father is a guy who gets his family in order, Olive's older brother that happens to be a mute, the uncle (Steve Carrell) who is a mental goofball and the grandfather who is a foul-mouthed drug addict. This movie is pure comedy gold. This movie had me laughing from beginning to end, unless it needs to be heartfelt and judgemental which this film also does really well. Olive's family is the the typical ordinary family you would come across. There are times when they are loud, offensive, insane or all of them at once. But like I said, it leads to good comedy!
Verdict: 5/5. This is in my opinion one of the greatest comedies of all time! This is funny, heartfelt, clever and memorable. I could watch this many times and never get tired of it! If you like road-trip movies, you are going to love this! his is a picture that I think you should watch. There is bound to be something you like!
