Tim Burton's very good film about some very bad films made by the inept but enthusiastic Ed Wood.

Ed Wood - 1995 Based on what I saw of the film, it is a biography of Ed Wood Jnr, supposedly the best worst director to have ever lived. The creator of classics such as ‘Plan 9 From Outer Space’, Ed Wood is a renowned director but for all the wrong reasons, dismally failing in all he attempts - but never giving up. Mr Wood, (portrayed marvellously by Johnny Depp), shows true courage as he battles through 1950’s Hollywood; going bankrupt a few times and falling in love along the way, ultimately to be booed and hissed at by cinema-goers across the city. I found this film to be thoroughly enjoyable, with a pleasant educational side – it is a true story after all – and a cast that really delivered. This really was a good film about the best of the worst.
