Star Trek (2009) is a visually stunning interpretation of how to reboot a franchise. JJ Abrams captivates the adventure that was Star Trek, but retains a modern interpretation that will attract newer audiences.

The main characters live up to the expectations of the originals, with Zachary Quinto pulling a sublime performance as Spock. Chris Pine adds a new style to James T Kirk, but you can definitely see the egoistical charm of Shatner.

The visual effects however and the updated Star Trek score by Michael Giacchine, stole the movie by storm. Having watched the behind the scenes video, this was only down due to the ingenuity of Abrams and his vivid imagination.

The story line has allowed for the reboot of Star Trek, for it to take another course, into another possible dimension.

The expectations are high for the recently released sequel.
