Forest Whitaker gives an Oscar-winning performance as Idi Amin, the Ugandan dictator in this riveting story of power gone mad.

The Last King of Scotland isn't the kind of film I would usually choose to watch, however I did enjoy it and will watch films similar to this again because of it. Both James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker were very convincing in their roles, they made the film realistic and the character of Nicholas was very relatable because of James McAvoy's performance. Some of the scenes in the film were shocking and stuck with me long after the film had ended. The contrast between the dramatic and traumatic scenes and fun festival type parties was effective in the film. Overall the film and acting was great, and I would recomend for anyone to watch this.
