Terrifically acted and beautifully shot Western re-make with the distinctive deadpan humour of the Coen Brothers.

Theres no doubt about it that this film is a smashing great film which always brings a warm glow into my heart whenever I watch this. This being a remake of the classic sixties True Grit makes a new and modern polished version of it. Making it better in every way and although it sticks with the exact same story with a few differences here and there, this is a must see film. Everyone gives a great performance and they all capture the emotion and that is where I think the original failed in every way as most of the performance I didn't enjoy in that, but Jeff Bridges in this makes a very real Rooster Cogburn. Everyone is a star in this film but I think that the actor who shined most was Matt Damon playing as tough ranger Mr La Boeuf. This is quite a different role for him and it worked well for his character and it was just nice to see Matt Damon use his voice in a different way rather than playing his usual role where he does not change much. Jeff Bridges puts on a very strong believable accent making you think he really is the character. If your looking for a great and original western this film is for you. A film full of laughter, fun, tension and more is a sure fire hit.
