The Miracle Worker (1962)

The name ‘miracle worker’ evokes feelings of joyfulness, greatness and sadness, this film is just that. I find the film very sad however I am very happy for Helen Keller in the end. The actor who plays Helen Keller is amazing, who is neither blind nor deaf. Well that’s enough about me here is something about the film… The film is about a girl called Helen Keller who is born fine but when she is eighteen months old she becomes blind and deaf. She isn’t taught anything as she grows up but her family decide to call in a teacher to help her. The thing that they don’t know is that when the teacher was little she was also blind and so she understands their difficulties. The teacher helping makes her learn lots of things that Helen would never learn on her own and in the end sh.... (Oops nearly told you the end). I would say that I would recommend this black and white film to a lot of people as it is very touching to watch. This is definitely four stars!!!
