A lot of people say that they hate this film but to be honest with you I have to agree with the minority on this website that say it is amazing. If you look at the reviews you will see that the majority of the people who didn't like this film said that it was because they didn't understand it and they were all quite young so I would recommend it to an older audience because the plot can be quite confusing. It follows 4 main characters and the people they meet along the course of the movie (Curt, Terry or as he is more commonly known as - Toad, Steve and John) on their last night before college in the summer of 1962. In the movie a lot of great music is used. All of the songs they use are things that people will have listened to in 1962 like Buddy Holly and The Beach Boys who both my dad and I love. The songs are catchy and add some fun to the overall film. The movie is very funny and most of the humour comes from Toad whom I must admit has got to be my favourite character. He is humorous and the easiest way to explain it is that he is hopeless. The actors and actresses who play the characters play them very well and this was basically the start of a major film career for Harrison Ford who then went on to play Han Solo in the Star Wars franchise and then Indiana Jones in the Indiana Jones franchise even though he had somewhat a minor role in this particular film. The name of this film doesn't really depict what happens in the movie so if what you like in a movie is someone graffiting in America then this is NOT the film for you! This is also a great film if you love cars because there are alot of classic ones, from John's iconic Deuce Coupe to the white T-Bird belonging to funnily enough the Girl In The White T-Bird. The movie uses a lot of popular culture from the 60s and it really shows what life was like back then. While it is a fiction film it can be easily related to real life with lots of real life situations included. If you go to Universal Studios Orlando, you can see all of the cars from the film and even dine in Mel's Drive-In which is great fun if you like the movie and I would reccomend that too. So overall to finish off you need to not listen to other people and give this movie a chance. Everyone is different and if you watch it and don't like it then that is ok but don't just not watch it because people say it is terrible. It really is good. I wasn't sure about seeing it the first time but now that I have seen it I have never looked back.
