With a twisted old-folks tale in a historical Spanish set, the Alice-in-wonderland-replica explores a Narnia-like reality. Pans Labyrinth is referred to an ‘adult’s fairy-tale’ bursting with the originality and creative nature of mystical creatures, an evil 'father' (who enjoys wearing sunglasses when it’s raining) and enthralling music to foreshadow dark happenings. If you’re up for a slightly gruesome thrill seeker, you will enable yourself to escape into the myths and legends of your childhood imagination. The soft gripping melodies and enchanting setting will leave you gasping, sobbing or screaming at this never seen before cinematography. Dysfunctional relationships and missions of a youthful, heroic girl Ofelia (Baquero) who relies on the chalk wall and hidden staircase, enthrals her to venture on a quest which guides herself out of the harsh, brutal and isolated world consuming her freedom. Pans Labyrinth is a definite must-watch (not for the young audience though!) and nevertheless makes you to jump- because the lanky voldamort junior is behind you!
