Are you looking for trouble? Have you heard about the witch who lives next door? Well, don't go messing about with her-you don't know what witches can do...

The Witches is a great film (based on Roald Dahl's award winning book), which is directed by the amazing Nicolas Roeg. A young boy, Luke Eveshim (Jason Fisher), goes on a lovely holiday with his faithful Grandma Helga (Mai Zetterling) after she is diagnosed with diabetes. Little do they know that the hotel that they stayed in was witch infested!

Luke had heard many tales about witches as a young boy from his grandma who had had an encounter with a witch once when she was a young girl. But when Luke meets the Grand High Witch (Anjelica Huston) for himself, does he know how to react?

With a hint of Rowan Atkinson (in The Witches he is Mr Stringer. Also, he is Mr Bean and Johnny English) to make things a little bit funny, a lot of mouse traps and some very hideous looks, this film is outstanding! Once again, well done to Nicolas Roeg; you did a great job.

I would recommend this film to all the family over the age of 8. Young children would still need supervising though during particular scenes.

NOTE: If you are weak-hearted, do not watch some scenes in this film.
