I really enjoyed this film as I could not easily determine what to expect. I think that Oliver Parker perfectly expressed his message to audiences that beauty is not everything. Ben Barnes plays a very convincing Dorian Gray and we can see his morals and ethics slip away from him as the plot unfolds. In addition to this, I think that the visual effects were perfect for the Victorian London setting. The low key lighting aided in creating shadows on the set, and this helped to create an air of mystery. I have not read Oscar Wilde's novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, however after watching this film I am sure I would enjoy it. I fully recommend it!
