This is a film that directly sets out to challenge a viewer, the visual/sound effects are very effective; they add much substance to the underlying tension that exists throughout the film. As l watched it, l just had this notion that something was going to implode. The characters were the main reason for this; l can imagine that it is not that easy or necessarily comfortable in acutely portraying serial killers. These two were no Bonnie and Clyde: it was a key point shown that there was no honour in their motivations nor their means. The film really captured the mindset, emotions of a depraved human being. This was just simple primitive contempt for the world: kill or be killed is the resounding message that l felt throughout. It serves to remind us humans of how our ancestors lived in a way that is completely morally abhorrent today; killing for food, killing for surivial, killing for enjoyment as well as the basic lustful ideals which are displayed between the two main characters. Despite these shocking, effective concepts, l feel that the film was a lot overboard in how it did this; the death scenes gradually lost their tension, their dramatic effect... because the audience came to expect them. I must concede however, that the ending was excellently done, considering all that had preceeded it.
