The whale rider is an amazing movie with a good moral in it,although the movie was made before i was born I truly enjoyed it.Pai was avery determined girl whose love for her grandfather shone through. When she was born her mother and twin brother died,so her grandfather was afraid that she might break the historic timeline. But soon he found to regret it.She was in the Mauri tribe New Zealand and her grandfather was the tribe leader.I feel proud for pai for standing against all this and being determined. It was a wonderful movie filled with up and downs. The Whangara people had a tradition and her grandfatherwas trying not to break it. but he could have actually considered how pai felt. The grandfather thought everything was her fault when it wasn't fair on her just because she was a girl.this made me understand a lot more about new zealands culture for the upcoming commenwelths.
