This highly anticipated science-fiction thriller serves up a visually stunning prequel-come-remake of the 1970s franchise.

The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes was an amazing concoction of excitement and sadness perfectly contrasted. The story is about Caesar; an ape experimented on in a lab, a guinea pig for the cure for Alzheimer’s. The cure makes Caesar extremely intelligent and soon grows up to do amazing things.

The story evolves, just as the apes do, into a simple but entrancing story. The computer graphics were wonderful when there weren’t real apes used. I found that the settings reflected the mood of the story like light on water. When the light was low, spirits were low. When the horizon was tinged bright gold, stretching on forever, that was how the apes felt; their sense of adventure endless and golden.

The Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes is an excitement-filled adventure that everyone should watch. For this film, ladies and gentlemen, it is a big YES.
