This film is old, and is about cross country running. This could scare away a lot of people outright from watching it, as they could immediately think that it could not have a worse genre. It is set in an older Britain, making some of the plot a little unusual for people unfamiliar with that time period. All this should not make this review seem bad, as I watched it expecting the worst and was actually surprised with my attachment and interest. The film overviews rebellious behaviour and the kind of devotion to ones goals, as the film are centred on a boy in a school. It also heavily elaborates on how the main character became who he is though things like various flashbacks and old relationships. The old fashioned element is overlooked quickly, and does not become too indifferent from modern movies. This film overall is not bad, and is worth trying to watch. It picks up fairly fast so that you won’t immediately turn it off upon discovery of how it was filmed with a matchbox. Do note I did not watch to the end of this film, but from what I’ve seen I would watch the rest!
