Nightcrawler (2014)

For the most part it is a very good movie, Jake Gyllenhaal does a fantastic job as the character "Louis Bloom" who actually is the film's antagonist, and throughout this entire movie Jake Gyllenhaal's performance makes you end up caring for his character, he is the film's antagonist because when he tries to get footage of crime scenes he ends up doing this in ways which go against the law, however you as the audience understand why he is doing this because you as the audience know that if Louis Bloom gets good video footage for the news station Louis will get a good amount of money, speaking of money this movie has a hidden message in it which is "Money is the root of all evil", because throughout the entire movie Louis Bloom's share of money from the news station increases, and the reason why the money increases is because Louis Bloom ends up getting more and more detailed crime scene footages, so detailed to the point of which Louis Bloom starts having trouble with the police, and you begin to see a more nasty and aggressive behavior from Louis Bloom because all he wants to do throughout this entire movie is grab up as much money as he possibly can, so I like the fact that message was in the film, anyway the film also goes at a very fast pace and I felt like the movie never slowed down for me, the film was 1 hour 57 minutes long but to me it only felt like 1 hour 45 minutes, so that's another positive about the movie, also the support cast make really good performances as well especially Bill Paxton in my opinion, because at first Bill Paxton's character has a rivalry with Jake Gyllenhaal's character because at first Bill Paxton's character is getting all of the good news footage and the money, but when Jake Gyllenhaal's character starts getting the good footage and the money Bill Paxton's character's attitude changes towards Jake Gyllenhaal's character, as Bill Paxton's character starts trying to get Jake Gyllenhaal's character to join their news team as they know if they get him in their news team they will start getting the money as well, so I have to give a thumbs up to Bill Paxton, and I really loved the soundtrack as well, the storyline is absolutely brilliant until it reaches the conclusive stage, as from the moment it reaches that stage the film falls flat on it's face as I felt like that there could have been a much better and more detailed ending than the ending we were given, albeit the ending that I wanted would have made the movie about around 20 minutes longer but it would have been worth it to see a better ending, however overall Nightcrawler was a very good movie which contained outstanding performances from all of the cast, it had a great a message in the movie, and the soundtrack was fantastic, however I felt like the ending could have been better than the ending that we did get, but I will still give this movie a 9 out of 10.
