‘The Maze Runner’. How to define it? Mysterious, unified, courageous, each of these words come rushing to mind yet the very essence of the film is much more elusive than that.

Think. Stop for a brief moment and really think. When faced with the a 100 foot wall, evasion of privacy beyond even your wildest dreams and a decision, a single decision that may alter the course of your life forever; what would you choose? How would you react?

A movie such as this, that so quickly captures your focus, drawing you in so deeply that you find yourself caring, so immensely, for a character in the space of barely even a few minutes deserves, at least in my mind, to be celebrated. One… two … three, and that’s it. Wes Ball has done what he set out to do; your hooked and now obsessively counting down the days until the sequel is released but don’t worry for If I can assure you of one thing tonight then I can assure you of this; it happened to all of us.
