The Man in the White Suit is about Sidney Straton, who invents a fabric that can resist dirt, wear and stains. A fantastical film. No one could invent such a material. The owner of the Birnley Textiles Co. employs Sidney, who has recently been fired from several previous jobs for the expense of scientific equipment, to work in his science lab. Mr Birnley pays the expense of his equipment and lets him do his research. Sidney fails in his initial experiments and makes quite a lot of explosions and mess, before finally getting it right, producing an indestructible fabric, that's illuminous and white. With his fantastic new white material he decides to get a suit made out of it. Mr Birnley suddenly realises the consequences of Sidney's invention, the whole textiles industry would fall... It is too cynical for my liking, but the characters were very interesting and were played very well by the actors. Very funny in places and can be a bit clumsy, but all in all was very well made.
