One of the greatest spoof films ever, this hilarious take on the disaster movies of the '70s involves a jet crew overcome by food poisoning.

'Airplane!', a fun, bubbly film with simple but hugely effective visual comedy and satire. We have our protagonist, Ted Striker, a show up on the classic masculine role model, and with the help of friends like Elaine, his other half in a rocky romance and some old faces from his military and flying past, attempt to navigate a plane to land as food poisoning spreads on board. We see a range of other characters on the plane: old and young, black and white, and we laugh with them and how they all interact. But like all great satire, much of its commentary still rings true today. Especially in this era post 9/11, this is a film that haunts us today of what can go wrong on an airplane. There is no question that this film is a must watch. This is a master class in how to compose satire that can be appreciated for decades to come.
