Thelma and Louise 1991 Ridley Scott Thelma and Louise was one of the first features to completely oppose Laura Maulvy's male gaze theory. This story of two women ( Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis) escaping from their suburban lives shows the strength of female friendship. Throughout the narrative the women face many obstacles making them stronger and closer. By the end of the film they become a feminist duo, stopping misogyny and enjoying it! A very young Brad Pitt appears in one of his first feature performances, something that can't go a miss. Let alone performances from Harvey Cartel and Michael Maddson. All in all this film is a great one to watch with your best friend on a rainy afternoon, it may not be a film buffs dream, but it's defiantly up there with the greats when it comes to emotive narrative, great characters and woman power at its finest.
