The phantom of the opera is a famous musical with many adaptations as this is one of the first ones where the phantom gives off a more romantic vibe instead of the originally planned stalker and murder. Turning the original gothic novel into a more love triangle with songs. The story follows Christine Daae a ballerina in the 19th century Paris opera house as when the opera house belongs under new management mysterious accidents occur as the workers fear for the opera ghost must be behind it. The song "phantom of the opera" is, of course, the best song in the movie and the other songs seem to not be worth remembering, i will say my favorite song excluding the main song would be past the point of no return as it really shows off Gerard Butler and Emmy Rossum's voices. The movie had a great set and took you back to the 19th century but the camera changed so often it was hard to follow the story at points i feel it would have been better to do longer wide shots so they don't have to keep changing the camera shots. I think Gerald Bulter did a fantastic job of putting a new perspective on the phantom and making him a likable character and even a love interest and making people getting into fights of picking a side and who would be better for Christine. No matter how much i love this film I can not give it 5 stars because the movie at points was so boring and the ending leaves an unsatisfied feeling in my gut (but that may be because i liked the phantom).
