Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel is nothing short of a masterpiece. Having watched the film multiple times, seeing it from a more critical viewpoint makes his work with symmetry throughout becomes apparent - each shot is its own form of perfection, especially when paired with the wonderful vibrant yet warm colour palette Anderson uses. The story is thrilling and exciting, but also humorous (courtesy of Ralph Fiennes) and lighthearted. Despite arguably being a rather complex film to understand at first due to Anderson's confusing combination of slapstick comedy and action - you really learn to appreciate the genius behind his method when watching it over a second time (or the fifth...).
