Lars and the Real Girl Review Craig Gillespie directed Lars and the Real Girl with Ryan Gosling as Lars. The story is about Lars a lonely man that is having trouble with his recent inability to find love, Lars is very secluded from other people as he’d much rather spend his time alone in his brother's garage as his brother's wife tries everything to make him spend time with them. Lars works in a simple office job which he shares his office cubicle with a fellow worker who shows him a website which you can buy personally made Sex Dolls to the user's description. A few days later Lars is happier and tells his brother and his wife he has found someone, both of them delighted. Lars kindly asks if she could stay in his Brother and Wife's house which they both agree but are suddenly not too sure after meeting his guest who is a Sex Doll, but Lars seems to see it as a real life human being. Lars and the Real Girl I found personally to be a somewhat unusual film, its cinematography not being too awesome thanks to a lot of it being just still shots without any movement but still has some nice long distance shots. Along with the story being somewhat interesting to see how people react to a once known lonely man coming out of hiding thanks to a Sex Doll he believes is real. It tries to bring light to the thought of someone caring about an inanimate object can be a good thing as it allows Lars to come out into the public instead of constantly hiding away. The only problem I had with the story was the one line joke of how awkward it is to have a Sex Doll in public places, But other than that the story is Interesting with its concept along with it being a little sad as Lars sees the Doll in his head as actually dying as the Doll became a part of the townspeople. I think this film is a good little interesting story that I didn't find funny as it was constantly making the same Joke.
